Where did the Week Go?



This week just seemed to fly by!  Here I was relishing in last menu plan and anticipating Philly Cheese Steaks, when – WOOOSH – I realized the week was passing and it was already Friday!

Friday is the latest day by which I try to get out the weekly menu plans so that there is time to shop on the weekends and have everything prepared for Sunday evening, the initial meal of the week. Well, here I am, scrambling, because it is THAT DAY and it’s time to start thinking about next week’s meals.

Thankfully, there is always the Internet, my handy, go-to, repository of recipes! It seems you can find just about anything on the Web these days, so, with a curious spirit and an eye for my mission to find economical, delicious meals for the week, I set about the business of planning this week’s meals.



Lasagna noodles ($1.00), sweet Italian sausage ($3.67), 1 pound lean ground beef ($3.62), 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes ($1.24)2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste (.46 each), 2 (6.5 ounce) cans tomato sauce (.33 ea), chicken wings (10.42), Hooters Breading Mix ($2.44), Ranch Dressing ($1.72), celery ($1.78), English cucumber ($1.98), 1 cup matchstick-cut carrots ($1.67), roasted unsalted peanuts ($2.48), fresh mint ($1.98), mozzerella ($4.22), cod fillets ($8.76), lemon (.50), 2 pounds beef stew meat ($14.47), beef broth ($1.98), 6 chicken thighs ($6.31)  TOTAL $71.82
